Did you settle in full or did you settle for a smaller amount? If you settled in full, you can try sending a GW letter. Otherwise, you won't get anywhere if you settled for a partial settlement.

Do you (or anyone else) have a good address to send this to? Or even email?

Not true Isislc I had good luck with Citi accounts that I settled on.

I sent them a Goodwill letter and they replied that they would remove the TL's.

To the OP:

How old are the CO accounts?

I still have a CAP1 CO on my reports, DOFD 2002. They denied the GW as well. I think with Cap1, you're stuck.

Did you ever ask Cap1 for an investigation? If so, how did that go?

No I did not. I thought about it, but there is nothing inaccurate. Unfortunately, EVERYTHING is perfectly in ordnung. When I GW'ed the Prez, I got back a nice letter with perfect dates of activity and everything. At this point, it's really not hurting me, it's paid, and it's due to fall off in a year or so (DOFD was actually 5/2001)...so it should drop before Christmas :p

And COs that are 4 years old or older do not really hurt all that much.

I wasn't aware of that, Bud. I have been turned down for credit because of a CO that is over 7 years old. So, I just figured it was pretty bad still.

Thanks for that info.

If the CO was 7 years old it should have been removed.

Mis-worded that. Sorry, the account is almost 8 years old. The CO will be 7 years in a few months.

But still, I thought it was killing me. I wonder if it's age isn't helping me more than it's hurting me, eh...?

Friggin' FICO scoring is a mystery to me, man.

I actually had better luck with them. They were reporting a Date Opened of 05/02 which I know was incorrect, and like a Newbie with not a clue I sent them a DV letter and they are an OC. NCO was the CA for them and they were both showing up on my CR. Using TC I checked yesterday and CAP1 was off of two out of three with TU still reporting, and NCO was off of the two that they were reporting to. I actually sent the same DV letter to both OC and CA. So I really was a little surprised to see the deletions after only 17 days. With a 7 year old CAP1 acct have you tried an investigation request asking for your previous statements showing from 02? Good Luck...

I didn't have a CO with Cap 1 but I had several lates and sent a goodwill on for them and they removed the lates next time they updated my CR.

I do have to agree Cap 1 keeps Exelent Records they are 1 OC not to mess with.

So if you screw them (even though I settled) - No GW.
