I just received a card in the mail from LPC UNIVERSAL (low pay card universal) It's one of those cards thats loaded with fees and can only be used to purchase products from their on line catalogue. I was given a limit of 7500.00 so If I have to pay a few of their fes I will but I want to be sure that they report to all 3 bureaus. Has anyone had any experience with this card before?

I dont want to bother if they dont report.

It seems to be just like the crown jewelers card. you pay a % down and pay for shipping then they bill the rest to your card. The big difference is that they sell just about everything that you can imagine.

I'd pass on it. Go with CJ and a secured bank card to build credit first, then go for the Sterling Trifecta and a couple bank cards.

go to their FAQ and look.

Be right back....

EDIT: Have you checked out ripoffreport?

Pay attention to the SECOND link - apparently they don't even report!

From their FAQ -

Your timely payments will allow you to continue to build and improve your credit standing with us. In fact, your timely payment history will allow you to request an increase in your credit line benefit. Low Pay does not represent (either expressly or by implication), that your Low Pay membership, including any payments or membership fees or any other consideration paid by you, will allow you to improve your credit score or profile, or to in any way fix your credit history or rating.

Yah, I got some promo in the mail with a card and I cut both up and threw them out.

Instead of giving those aholes my money, I'm taking out a deposit loan from my bank this month for $1,000. In three weeks, I've already increased my Experian score by 72 points. I'm on roll, but this advice is gonna come with the most serious of tones...be very careful as to whom you allow yourself to do business with while you're rebuilding. There are a lot of sub prime scumbags out there and they don't seem to be very well regulated. It's cumbersome and time consuming enough just trying to deal with CRAs, CAs and OCs.....don't need to add any more letter writing campaigns to the list.
