Error in this, but not sure what it is

Recommended Posts

I am getting the following "interpretation" from Costco of my EQ report. TC is also saying that I was late within the last month on something, but I know I haven't been and couldn't figure out from looking at my EQ report which account they were talking about. Costco gave me this:

You were late by the most consecutive payments or became derogatory 1 month ago. (This only includes accounts for which the payment history was reported.)

Account/Number: CHASE MAN-S9422****

Lending Institution: STATE STUDENT AID CO

Date Last Reported: 03/2008

Comment: Was "120 days late".

Date Last Reported: 03/2008

This account was in default, paid off, and rehabbed in 2003. So I am not sure what is going on? Can someone help me figure out what to dispute about this??

This defaulted, rehabbed account was recently updated. FICO-based software mistakenly views this as a recent derog and deducts accordingly. Was this 'interpretation' listed near a score? It sounds like one of scoring software's standard 'reasons', which explain little and confuse much.

I'm wondering why they bothered to update something with no activity since settlement 5 years ago...Did they update the TL in response to a dispute?

No, I haven't disputed anything related to my SLs.

Yes, the "interpretation" was given as a reason for my current FAKO via Costco. I'm not concerned about that - but I am concerned if in some summary rundown it appears that I have been late on an account in the last 30 days. Is there anything "correct-able" about this or should I just let it lie?
