Guest BucFan
I just sort of need to vent a little, hope it's ok...I've been working on Credit for a while. It used to be perfect (Pre-911 when I lost everything) but now... my scores suck pretty hard.My EQ FICO is the best of the 3 at 573. (Pretty frickin' bad ,eh?)So anyway, I thought that maybe I could get a revolving credit line with the 573. I thought wrong. I've applied everywhere I can think of that checks EQ and I can't get sh!t. Not even a secured card through my CU.I don't know why I even bother... looksbothways
Did you try looking at whogavemecredit.com or browsing around the obtaining credit forum here? I got a $200 limit Target card with FAKOs in the mid 500's (I know my EQ FICO was 566, don't know the other two) and a $300 limit Household Bank mastercard ($79 annual fee, $19 application fee). I just now decided to get a line of credit with Crown Jewelers to boost my available credit a bit.I don't know how recent your bad accounts are, or how many you have not paid, but you might just have to wait for them to age a bit before lenders want to trust you again. Most of my "bad" is two years old or older with only one negative account in the last two years (and I wrangled a pfd for it, so it's gone now). whocares
Start by getting your reports and getting some deletes...you don't need any credit until you clean up those scores a bit...I know it's easy to be discouraged...but everything you need is right here on this site.Good Luck
Guest BucFan
Well, back in '01 I was laid off with about 6,000 others. I went 2 months without work and had to take a low paying job. I had to give back 2 vehicles (one a lease) because I couldn't afford the payments any longer. (They told me they sympathized with me and wouldn't report neg. PFFFT!)It's been almost 7 years with no new baddies.... then I got into an auto accident last year and the insurance company hasn't paid the hospital 3 charges. Now, I have brand new sh1t on there after I worked so hard at getting back on track.I've disputed to no avail. Everything comes back verified. Can't get new credit.Want to buy a home next year...Probably not going to happen... Anyway, I don't mean to bitch and moan here, I just have no one to bitch and moan to at home. LOL
LeslieR
Well we are a sympathetic bunch here, but now that you've got that out of your system, put it behind you and get to work. It's now time to start the DV process to "force" some of the things off your reports that your disputes failed at. Read the stickies and the DV flowchart, buy yourself a book of Forever stamps and a box of envelopes, make sure your printer has ink, and get writing. All of us started where you are or worse and by following these procedures, obtained results. It is not a quick process -- it starts off quick and then ebbs and flows, but within 6 months to a year, you will be seeing some improvements. For your medicals, there are some methods including the "whychat" method that have worked for people. Try dealing w/ the OC on these first, write goodwill letters, offer to PFD, etc. Lots of info. around here on all of these techniques.Don't try to apply for more credit until you get your reports semi-repaired. Then get Crown Jewelers since they don't even do a credit review. That will give you something.Good luck!!

Using these you have to be able to pay the bill which may or may not be an option in your case but here is a link that may help you. If medical bills are your only baddies then this may be a step in the right direction.http://whychat.5u.com/hipltr.html

CleverCynic
Sounds like a lot of progress for 1 day! Once those report, you'll get Target and they pull EQ. WAIT for at least one to report!
isislc
Don't be discouraged, when I first started my credit repair my lowest score last Feb was a whopping 425!! I'm up in the 600s now and lots of cards as you can see in my siggy. It sometimes feels like an uphill battle but you will find that it will take a lot of little victories to get everything all cleaned up. In the end it will be well worth it. I've had to put my dreams of a home on the backburner for a year but it looks like I'll be able to start my mortgage in the next 2 months.
