CHRISF
I had a judgment against me from Capital One. The judgment has been paid in full following a garnishment of my bank accounts. I was in the process of getting a automobile loan when the garnishment was served on the credit union and the credit union added the amount to pay off the judgment to the car loan. How can I get the CA for Capital One to file a release on this? The CA doesn't seem to be in a hurry to do so.
swirlgirl
You can take proof of payment to the courthouse and file a Satisfaction of Judgment. The CRAs will change your CR report to show "Satified Judgment." Just know that this won't help your credit score. It will still show on your credit report for the full 7 year reporting period unless you are able to dispute with the CRAs and get it removed.
