This website is empowering! Disputed all negatives with CRAs twice in the last 4 months. Over 4 derogs dropped from all three. My dilemma, some negatives dropped from 2 CRAs and not the third, others dropped from 1 CRA and appear on two. I'm not sure of the next steps, do I dispute again with CRAs who continue to report or DV those collections that are still appearing?

School Loans: I consolidated over 6 Sallie Mae School Loans, i now have one payment that i've have not missed or been late on for 2 years. The old 6 individual sallie mae loans are reporting as "closed(paid)" but all of the lates are still on my report, really dumping my score) Any suggestions here ?

This process started off as depressing at first, then angry, then anger transferred into action. I will one day own a home! Sorry if it was too long.

I have the same thing on a couple of TL's and will be watching for advice on this as well.

I've been asking a thousand questions today... this is what I have pieced together.

The next step after disputing the neg TL w/ the CRA is to DV the CA. (Use certified mail)

Remember: If your DV is not within the 30 days of your dunning letter, the CA is under no legal obligation (unless you're in TX) to respond to the DV.

After you receive receipt of delivery from the post office, file a second dispute with the CRA.

(I think I'm right.... if anyone disagree, please make it known.)

EDIT: I was thinking about notifying the CRA that the TL was DV'd w/ the CA, and then adding a copy of the receipt with my 2nd dispute letter. I don't know if that would help or not.

The only thing I would change is to wait a day or 2 after they receive your DV.

This way they can't say they didn't have a chance mark the TL as disputed
