BTO429
All i have managed to do so far by disputing ca accounts on my cr is to get dun letters to start showing up in my mail. I have tried dv and not a single ca has answered them. Now the phone calls are starting again, phone is ringing all friggin day long. I guess at this point all I can do is pay all those medical bills that my sons mother didnt pay. We Are separated for 12 years now. and I get all the bills on my son and have no say so as to when my ex takes the boy to the doc to ru up more bills for me. She aint worried about it cause she knows they will come after me.
momof5
First of all, how OLD are the bills?Second, he may be your son, but your ex has NO LEGAL right to list you as the obligor. I would find out who the doctors are, call their offices and find out if this has happened and ask for proof (forms she filled out). Then I would file an ID Theft (I would see this as a form of ID theft...she is not allowed to use YOUR name without your permission.) report and mail it to the CRAs, OCs and CAs. Then I would contact the CRAs and point out that they are not allowed to report any account associated with this ID theft.Face it, she can't take out a credit card in your name, why should she be allowed to generate medical bills in your name? The division of un-reimbursed medical expenses should be all lined out in your divorce decree/custody agreement. And you will find that actively engaging in credit repair will always bring collectors out of the woodwork. The CRA's are the best skip tracers for CA's in the world. mycorrado
Yeah, something isn't adding up here.. Are you legally divorced? when?Who has custody of the child? If she is the primary caregiver she cannot list you as the adult responsible, and your child support payments (if any) would be used in part to take care of medical expenses. You should not be getting bills unless your are just separated and are both considered responsible parties.
BTO429
We were never married. We have joint physical custody six months with me six months with mom. Most of the doctor bills are from 96, 97 ,98 and 2000. Mom takes care of his medical and nothing has ever been put in writing by the court that I pay his bills. Indiana is that way they always go after dad and mom gets a free ride. In Indiana if you are of certain sex(male) you have to fight for everything and mom can do what she wants. Maybe you should try going to court to put something in writing. While he's with you, you should pay and when he's with her she pays. Have you tried that?A lot of people want to keep the relationship with their child's parent amicable by staying out of court, but if you're going to complain that she's not doing her share then maybe you need a court order.
