pere Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 A nevada collections agency placed a negative tradeline on my credit report a few years ago. They validated the charge twice when I disputed through the CR since and sent back what I think is a fake invoice when I DVd the charge. It will be difficult for me to prove that the invoice is fake though and I now live in california so I decided to let it lie.Now I've received a few letters from a different collection agency (American Agencies in california) on the same account. American is not reporting on my CR yet.At this point I'm happy to pay it if I can get PFD.Would paying American under a PFD remove the nevada collection agency's negative tradeline?Any experience negotiating PFD with American? Thanks!

Maybe the NV CA has passed it on to American. But you have to deal with each CA separately. Paying one will not affect the other.
pere Posted April 14, 2008 Author Report Posted April 14, 2008 I'm concerned that disputing the nevada collection agency's TL again will crater my credit score. The last time the nevada CA validated with the CRAs was over a year ago and I always thought that FICO computes based on the last report.Since you're telling me that dealing with American can't fix the existing NV TL, is there any harm in ignoring American for now? How likely is it that they will report a TL?Have you disputed the nevada collection agency's TL with the CRA since learning about American? Maybe the NV CA has passed it on to American. I have always thought its on the last activity.Since you're telling me that dealing with American can't fix the existing NV TL, is there any harm in ignoring American for now? How likely is it that they will report a TL?I'm sorry!! I don't know how likely it is. Hopefully a pro can help out here.
