StuckInTheMiddle
Just wanted to post something in the 'win' column.Sent a goodwill letter to the OC (medical) and CA on 4/9/2008.Received a handwritten response from the OC on 4/12/2008, "Paid 5/27/2003...I called CA and they said they would change code to have it removed completely. Hope it works for you. Call 'so-and-so' at the CA to follow up" signed personally by OC.I'm finding that requesting deletions with a goodwill letter on older paid collections works very very well. StuckInTheMiddle
Sure, here goes. It's really nothing special - I have another one describing my son's medical condition that led to a bunch of bills, some of which went to collections. I'll post that one on another thread, it includes a portion where I say I'm sorry I paid so late, we've gotten back on our feet, please consider deletion. Here's the successful letter, please note that the response I got was from the Cc'd medical provider. This is my strategy, since I live in a small town, and all the collection accounts are local medical providers - requesting deletion from BOTH the collection agency and the OC - I'm working it from both ends, I also include a copy of my 3-in-1 credit report showing the tradeline.MeMy AddressMy SSNMy Driver's License #My DOBCollection AgencyStreet AddressCity, State ZipApril 9, 2008Re: Request deletion of account no. ****, original creditor Medical Provider. To whom it may concern:I am writing to request deletion of the above mentioned account, as it was paid in full some time ago.
