annabananasf Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 I signed up for score watch the other day, and today I rec'd an alert that the amount on a CO'd account increased by $15. I thought once an account was charged off/sold, the balance should be frozen or zeroed out. is that not always the case? thx.
Fizzle1979 Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 Once the alleged debt is SOLD to a junk debt buyer, yes ideally the tradeline should reflect sold to JDB and the debt be $0. Not everyone does this automatically though. If the OC still has the account, yes they can still add interest. And if the JDB owes the account, they can add interest also.
