I DV'd two collections being handled by CA's with the CRA's and they each came back "verified" new information reported. All that changed is the balance reduced by one dollar..... What are they up to? Midland and Portfolio....

Any ideas what they are up to?

Does this mean you sent the DV to the CRA? If so they treated it as a request for investigation. I made that mistake once, but it worked to my advantage because they deleted the item.

The DV should be sent to the CA.

I agree with Joseph.

They are just reporting the accounts as they see fit.

As far as they are concerned the accounts are valid.

Are they yours?

How old are they?

Have they contacted you?

How much are they for?

No, sorry... I DV'd the CA and then disputed with the CRA's. The only change that the CRA's reported were the 1 dollar balance reduction on both. The scary thing is this: Both are only scheduled to be on until July of this year and then drop off. I am worried they are trying to reage the debt by giving me credit for a 1 dollar payment...... thus starting the clock again.

They are not mine... wrong socials on both... The are 6 years and 9 mo. old. They had not contacted me....

I am thinking you are thinking.... "let sleeping dogs lie for 3 months"

One is for 140 bucks the other for 430.

Well if they're not yours then they're not yours. Do you think you'll be interested in having a credit relationship with the companies? If so then you may need to prove how those accounts are not yours. If not, then don't worry about it.

Yes that is what I'm thinking just let them fall off.

If they contact you then send them a DV otherwise just forget about it for a couple months.

FYI just because the SS# doesn't match doesn't mean that they aren't your accounts. As far as the CRA's are concerned as long as a name and address match that's good enough.
