Accurint / West Law

I have numerous inaccuracies being reported to potential employers by Accurint.

What they have done is tie my personal information in with another person, of a different race, that resides in a different state, whom has multiple felonies.

This has cost me employment and I can prove that.

Accurint has been unresponsive to my requests to have the inaccurate entries removed or corrected (I've never been arrested), for over 6 months now.

If any of you have any information, please... help me out.

Thanks.

edit:

Oh, BTW, Accurint claims that they are not governed by NCRA laws because they have a disclaimer that says not to use their services for anything listed in the NCRA.

Many large companies and firms use their service for pre-employment screening and they (Accurint) knows this. Are they really protected through some BS loophole?

Absolutely. This has been going on for months now and the phone numbers for contacting Accurint only lead to salespersons that know nothing of this kind of thing.

Once they put me through to a voice mail system where I was instructed to leave my name address phone number, yada, yada... and someone would get back to me.

Never any reply and I haven't been able to be directed back to that line since.

West Law gives you an email address to contact them regarding inaccuracies but they have never responded.

So, as far as I know, yes... it's still being reported that I am drug running felon.

here's the 24 hr customer support line -- maybe that'll lead you to a different person:

Customers Inside the U.S. - 800.543.6862

Are you sure they have this person tied to your SSN? I mean, unless the person is showing the same SSN, finding a match with the same name is pretty meaningless.. but maybe the ones conducting the search don't fully understand how to interpret the results, which is more likely what's going on (unless your identity has been stolen, that is!)

hope this helps.
