lovebug5
I know that the FICO system is pretty finicky and I'm fully aware that no one on the forums can necessarily give a concrete answer to this...But I'm going to ask anyways. Today I found out that two CA accounts on EX had mysteriously dropped off - much to my liking and surprise. I made the decision to purchase my FICO for EX, just to see what those deletions might have brought me in terms of a score jump. I was a bit irritated to see that my FICO went from a 661 to a 667 since my last FICO pull in March...6 points. That's it. No new baddies, no new IQ's, no late payments, etc. Then I took a look at my TU FICO, considering that three CA's had dropped off of my report. I went from a 635 FICO in March to a 657 FICO in April - a 22 point jump. And then I figured that since I had already purchased my other two, I might as well pull my EQ as well. My EQ FICO dropped six points - with two CA's deleted and two new IQ's. *sigh* So I was curious to know...Does anyone think that I pulled my FICO's prematurely, the day I noticed these deletions?? Is there any future hope of another score upswing?
Amerikaner83
yeah, I think you suffer from "premature pulling" - an infliction that affects those who are too eager to pull their FICOS.In all seriousness - I can see how the low increase is there. When Arrow removed themselves form my report I got a paltry score jump as well - under 10 points. I think if one has multiple collection accounts (or any amount of other negative entries, so long as it's more than one), then FICO won't boost until the final one is gone. Example - 5 collection accounts dropping down to 2 collection accounts would raise a score from 600 to 620, but when the other 2 drop, then it goes up to 680 or so...I think the mere existence of a collection or late pay or anything still on reports will not affect FICO as much if there remains one of the same type of baddie...Does that make sense? lovebug5
Hi...My name is LoveBug...I suffer from premature FICO pulling.LOL...You make sense and I totally see your point. I'd like to see more of an upswing from these deletions but totally understand if there isn't one for awhile. I've gone one CA left who won't budge - but I have them on HIPAA violations as well as FCRA and FDCPA violations. Once those are gone, hopefully I'll see a pretty significant increase in my scores. Thanks for the reply, as always, 'Kaner.

LeslieR
This is all so perplexing. I swear, when I'm "clean" I am going away for a year from all of this before I even look at my scores.
CleverCynic
Were they dispute deletions or aged off? If they aged off they weren't hurting that much anyway and the average age of your report got younger, so there was an offset. ...and I KNOW you have a ton of new accounts this year!

They just kind of disappeared in 24 hours... *shrug* Yes, the new accounts are killing me right now too. It appears that being a premature FICO puller as well as having an application addiction is taking a toll on me now, eh?

Getting 4 collections off TU with 1 remaining equaled a score increase of about 60 points. Getting 4 collections off EX with 0 remaining equalled a score increase of 28 points. EX sucks!!!Rant over--we now return to your regularly scheduled thread.
Houdino
I heard something about some "premature pulling" going on in this thread. The admn sent me here to clean things up, so knock it off! I added a 18 year aged perfect CC account to DW CR and her TU score went down 50 while EX & EQ went up 25-30!!! WTF!!! I give up...

If a collection is within 2 years old, you will get a significant jump in your score if it is removed. If it is older than 2, it doesn't affect your score as much and will only give ya a few points. Recently when I got one of my CAs off that was a little over a year old, i had a huge jump in my Fico.
Ahntara
"...premature FICO puller..."Doesn't Viagra help with that? Oh wait, that's not the same thing...."...Satan never increases scores very much..."Magdalen, you know that Satan only supplies the info that scoring programs use, right? Satan doesn't have anything to do with scores increasing or decreasing, not even their own (separate company) division from which you can buy a score. The CRA's are only repositories for the data, even the Satanic one.

The CRA's are only repositories for the data, even the Satanic one.I know the old "we're just repositories of the data" story, but I feel like Satan goes out of its way to screw people. I admit that's my own personal feeling.I dunno if the library which is a repository of books had a whole bunch of old out-dated and incorrect encyclopedias would they keep 'em or get rid of them and get new, up-dated and more correct encyclopedias? And even if they kept the old crappy ones wouldn't the librarian direct people to the better, more accurate ones. If even the CRA admit that 80-some percent of CR have incorrect data, you'd think that they might do something about their accuracy. Maybe I don't know, refuse to take information from data furnishers who report the preponderance of the incorrect items.
lovebug5
Well poop. I'm hoping that in the end, I'll see a nice raise in my FICO's when the last CA drops. That'll mean no CA's and in my personal opinion, that warrants a score jump. Until then, I will continue to blame the CRA's for every single problem that I have because...Well, it's just easier that way. And as far as my applidiction, I'm debating joining a 12-step program. Houdino
I have heard that many CIC addicts catch applidiction after the get out of rehab. Maybe it's contageous.I've also heard that app sprees cause post whoring, but I don't see the connection...
StuckInTheMiddle
I myself have been post whoring with an app spree lately - but haven't reached the peak of 'premature pulling' just yet, (I don't wanna pay for one more FICO until I'm confident I've reached 700 - ignorance is bliss). There is to be NO application sprees without a solid slew of information on your side: which includes knowing the CR that will be pulled in your state, your score for that CR, and what their criteria for approval is.Call it the AA (Application Addiction) 3 Steps! Maybe we need our own prayer/chant so you people will get it through your thick skulls!!!
