sparky256DSL Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Lately, I have had a major derog removed from my TU report because of a dispute. I read somewhere I can have the CRA resend my reports to anyone who received it in the last x number of days/years. I can't remember what I read completely. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Also is this something I can do to a creditor that I got denied a CC with? Thanks
Fizzle1979 Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 I am pretty sure the TFC says this. But since you don't live in TX, it would not apply to you. What I would do, it just call up the CRA and tell them that since this information was inaccurate, you are requesting they send out a report to the companies that pulled your credit within the last 60 days.
swirlgirl Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 It's actually part of the FCRA that you have the right to request the CRAs to send the results of a dispute to organizations who have reviewed your credit report in the past 2 years for employment purposes or the last 6 months for any other purpose.
Focus2069 Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Just wondering...what good will do? If you were denied a credit card or something, will the resending of the credit report with the derogs off help them offer you another card or something? Do they acutally look at the reports that get sent to them under this policy?I would make them do it just to make sure they are actually doing work over there at the CRA's.....
sparky256DSL Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Posted April 17, 2008 I'm not sure if it will help with CCs but heck it is worth a try. Worst case is they get the report and don't care. Maybe I can send a reconsideration letter ahead of time and tell them I will be having the CRA send them a new CR. What will it hurt?
