I have enjoyed getting help from folks on the board and I appreciate everything. I have gotten a bunch of collections off my credit and a lot of inquiries removed.

One of the biggest tips I could give to someone starting out is this: I have found that by being civil and having a "story" with the OC's help a lot. Secondly, we get so carried away with writing DV's and PFD's, etc. etc. etc. that we forget sometimes to simply say "thank you" when someone does help us out or seems to actually care. Remember, as corny as it sounds, you really do get more with honey.....

I can't tell you the number of deletions I have gotten by just simply asking for help and then making small talk with the foks as they pound on their keyboards - sure, it gets time consuming sometimes and I have more manila folders scattered around my desk than a schoolteacher.... but... success is worth it.

Good luck - Now if I could just get Midland to back off!!!!

When my CL with Citi recently went from $4000 to $5600 with out me requesting it and without them doing an inquiry, I called them up and thanked them. I said they are by far the best card in my wallet and I do appreciate them. The Rep said its good to get calls like this.

But a month before that happened, I called Citi up and asked them some questions and made small talk with the rep about how I was responsible and I was on top of my credit score and credit reports. I think this helped me get the increase.

A little over a month ago, I started the process of cleaning stuff up. I'm posturing to buy a new car and I refuse to pay subprime interest rates this time around.

I have increased my scores by approx 100 points with each bureau. I went from the mid-500's to now, showing mid 600's across the board. When I reach 700, I will start looking for that car (Nissan Murano has caught my eye). It will be my reward!

Congrats to you on your success - keep up the great work!
