I recently found out I have only $3,100 left to pay on all my CC debt. I am putting about (and more if possible) $485 per month towards the debt. The debt will be paid off shortly, but I am trying to figure what to do next? I still have student loan debt (32K @ 3.75%), which I am only paying the interest on right now b/c they are in forebarance. I can con't to keep it in that process for about 3 more years b/c I am a teacher.

I also have a 22K car loan which I pay $482 on per month. Here is my big question: When I get through paying off the CC debt, should I:

a) Start putting the $485 towards my student loan debt?

B) my car?

c) start saving the $$ up in an Emergency Fund account?

--I want to save up a large amount of money to have a "cushion" and to invest with.

Thanks for the advice!

You should have $1000-$2000 in your emergency fund at very minimum. This allows you to ride out a small emergency and still stay on track. I'd make that a top priority while still making minimum payments on debt. Then I'd go back and finish paying off the debt. Then I'd finish off the 6 month emergency fund. Then I'd pay off the car as quick as possible. Then I'd start investing.

Yes, I'm aware my "plan" sounds very much like Dave Ramsey's plan, heh.

Thanks! That's what I think I'm going to do: Finish off this last credit card, and then apply the extra payment to my car. I think I can pay off my car rather quickly since I only have 1. Car Loan and 2. Student Loans.

Thanks for the advice!
