vali1961
Live in Texas. Past SOL. Approx 3 years ago palisades tried to collect from me(large account). Dv-ed them and they went away. About 1-2 years later they came back with W&A on their side. DV-ed again and again and everything away. About 1 year ago Palisades made an entry on CR doubling the original amount. I didn't fight that. Today I received a letter from Palisades again asking for 50 % (I won't even think to pay) and a 20 days ultimatum. If not answering within 20 days their "generous" offer will be invalid. What do they try to pull out? After years of DVs they still try to collect? If they were not able to validate any of my DVs how do they dare to come back after years claiming the debt? Thanks to anyone who's taking the time to read and give an opinion. TTigggers
Well if it's past the SOL why not think about sending them a Cease & Decist letter. This will stop their communication with you. They may file a lawsuit against you but if it is past SOL you could use that as your defense and ask for dismissal with prejudice. Amerikaner83
They may file a lawsuit against you but if it is past SOL you could use that as your defense and ask for dismissal with prejudice....and threaten to sue THEM for FDCPA violation of misrepresenting the legal status of a debt.
