AES/PHEAA question on reporting

As many of you already know I am in the process of rehabing my SL. I am making payments to DCS. I have made 4 payments so far, May 1st will be my 5th payment.

My question is on my report I have 4 tradelines for AES/PHEAA.

Two of them with the same account number and different amounts (one for 7,181 and one for 15,186) These two are both listed as Collection account as of April 2006.

Two of them with the same account number listed as a charge off.

Is there any way to get them combined? Also after rehab can I expect all 4 of these to be updated to positive tradelines?

Thanks in advance for all of your help!!

I'm assuming subsidized and unsubsidized parts of your loan?? Two of them will update to good TLs after the rehab, but be aware with AES/PHEAA there's some form you have to complete to get them to send the rehab to the regular handling (or something). In other words, they won't automatically mark you as good and the rehab as complete. When you get to the end you need to call them and ask for the next steps. As to the other two TLs, they will still say "charge-off" and will still report for the remainder of the 7.5 year reporting period, but they should show zero balance.

Really? Mag, AES/PHEAA was the servicer I f'ed up on. I JUST finished rehabbing. The defaults are off my reports. Should I call PHEAA now, or wait until they contact me first?

I have one chargeoff with EX concerning AES/PHEAA. You think they will get rid of my lates on that TL as well??

I've had mixed success with getting rid of the bad TLs. TU has me with one good closed AES TL. EQ has none. EX, of course, has the two good TLs, the two old charged off TLs and two extra from pre-consolidation. I've given up trying to get them right on EX. The two extra ones will be gone this summer. The old charged off ones are due to drop in 2009, but since they say zero balance I don't care so much. I even sent a goodwill letter to the CEO of PHEAA and they sent letters to all of the CRAs with the aforementioned results.

My good TLs didn't show up on any of the CRs until I called AES/PHEAA and filled out whatever form that was. And then it took from September 2006 until January 2007 until they finally updated. Although Lynn will tell you that it takes only 9 payments to complete rehab I made 18 payments from February 2005 through August 2006 before they told me my rehab was complete. It was kind of a cluster. Hey, well at least I have good payment records on my loans from January 2007 (though it should be from August 2006, grumble, grumble).

Thank you Mag. Lynn can't tell me s--t that I personally went through. I went through 10 payments of rehab and I had to be on HESAA's butt to get the hell out of there. It really was hell dealing with them. I just like the improvement of my score but I need so much cleanup to get to where I need to be for a house.

Me too. I still have this repo on my report that I really can't mess with until the SOL has run. I don't want to wake the finance company up. I know that when it's gone my scores will all be great because that's what happened to EQ. Through a lucky series of events it was removed. It was also corrected quite a bit on TU (lates were changed to on-time). I think, when you are on FA the CRAs talk to each other a lot more, because I didn't dispute the TL on TU, but it was updated. The only reason I even dared disputing it with EQ was due to a FUBAR the DOFD was changed from 2004 to 2007 which killed my score. I was furious and didn't think things through. Like I said it worked out, but it could have gone badly.
