jilliep80
I am in the process of settling my CO with Capital 1. My question is once we reach a settlement does it remain reporting as a CO or is it settled for less than the full amount?

TTigggers
You could ask them to report it as "Paid as agreed"
Nascar3
The previous poster is correct. It will say settled for less than full balance and it will still be listed as a derogatory account on your credit report. You might try negotiating before you pay, but I have read that Crap One is a hard a$$. I know I have settled with them back in 2003 and they are still on my reports as a derog. I also have another charge off with them that they won't budge on. They add interest and report every month. I have nothing to do with this one except wait until June of 2009!
