well i think in 2005 but with the collection agency last time i had a bank account that went this way back in 1999 i just paid the bank directly and that was the end of it and they also deleted the entry on checksystems

the collection agency is KB Merrill Associates LLC and i looked for what a collection agency must do in wa state and one is they must be registered and licenced in wa state. they are not licensed in wa state and i check with the state on that and tomorrow they will get my Debt validation letter as i got a message on my phone about a deposition being filed on the 30th of this month so i cant wait

but do you think i should just pay the bank directly as its US Bank that i had account with????

if it was closed in 2005 chances are it was also opened around then as well...which means you still can be sued.

Follow the link in my signature re: CAs have to be licensed. Check there - tha'ts the DOL website. Remember to search in general terms, not the full business name to et better results.

...message re: deposition... that's probably just a threat that they say. Have you ever received a letter from this colelction agency before? If so, when was it, and what did it say? You can't pay the bank if the bank sold the debt, that's whey I asked.
