Merged Credit Report with Relative

I have 3 accounts that are on my credit report (2 joint and one authorized user) the accounts belong to my mother. Her and I have the same exact name and address. These accounts have merged onto my Transunion Credit report and this is the honest truth. They are affecting me negatively.

The creditors are Bank Of America, Citibank and HSBC/Best buy.

My question is what is the best way to have these accounts removed off my file? I have contacted the creditors and they cannot provide me verification.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

If they are not your account send the cb's a letter stating that these accounts are not yours here is the sample letter http://www.creditinfocenter.com/forms/sampleletter5.shtml

state on their Not my account! Make sure you send the letter certified then just simply wait. Please alter the letter to fit your needs!

If you have done this step which I will assume you have, the cb's do not have to provide you with verififcation, nor do the OC what you wnat from the OC is an investigation into this account!!!

If you sent a dv to the OC with no response write another letter letting them know that they are in violation with the FCRA laws and that if your investigation is not responded too you will have no choice but to cantact the BBB and their state Attorney General. Do not be affraiD to file complaints with them that is what they are their for.

MAKE SURE YOU KEEP PROPER PAPER TRAIL!!! VERY IMPORTANT

Hope this helps

No dont ask them to investigate one particular part of thr account ie DOB you want them to do a full investigation and let them find the error. Get together any documentation that you have to validate your claim but do not send this to the OC. If they don't reply to you in 30 days you will contact the CB's with the letter you sent to the OC stating that they have not complied in the time frame and are in violation and you will then send in all of your supporting documentaion to the CB's and ask them to remove it from your CR.

I have updated my reply to you a little while ago so please read what I have typed in my last reply.

Let me know if this is helping any

You can not DV an OC you need to send an Investigation Per FCRA section 623.

They have 30 days to respond before they are in violation.

No dont ask them to investigate one particular part of thr account ie DOB you want them to do a full investigation and let them find the error.

You have to give them a good reason to investigate or your letter can be found frivilous.you need to give them a specific reason to investigate

Sending a letter like this to the CRA's does nothing.

All they will do is send you a letter stating that they cannot use your information to update your report and that it must come from the data furnisher (OC).

If the OC doesn't respond in 30 days you need to send them an ITS letter and inform them that they are in violation of the FCRA and if they don't respond in 10 days you will file complaints with the BBB, FTC, AG and file a lawsuit against them

I have updated my reply to you a little while ago so please read what I have typed in my last reply.

Remember the CRA's don't care what you have to say they go by what the Data Furnisher reports to them.

But what are the steps? For the sequence of the letters....

Credit Bureau first? OC first or both at the same time?

You have to dispute with the CRA's first then send the investigation letters to the OC's

Dispute as not mine with the CRA's and state in the dispute that they are your mothers accounts.

"...same exact name and address..."

This information is used to identify and verify your accounts. While it matches with someone/anyone else, your file will mix with theirs during a merge.

So even if you take all of the steps recommended here and get your TU report exact, the next time your CR is pulled and merged you may get the same mixed results. Just wanted to let you know.
