sparky256DSL Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 I applied for a pre-approve offer for Cap1 and received my card in the mail yesterday. I want to call and activate it but they only gave me a $500 limit. Do they do CLI upon activation if I request it to activate the card? Also they did not provide any documentation that states the APR or Ann. Fee. The papers mentioned a "membership fee" but said it would be applied if there was one but it did not say if there was one or not. All of my other cards told me this info, is this normal or am I missing something? Thanks
JustaTexan Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 Don't know what your offer was but it sounds like you got the card that is a step up from mine. If you pay on time and don't go over your limit, you will probably be raised to $750 in 3-4 months. I started out at $300 and was raised to $500 and apparently my particular "product" does not go any higher. I would just call to activate and then just ask. It can't hurt. Good luck! sparky256DSL Posted April 23, 2008 Author Report Posted April 23, 2008 Well I activated the card and they would not give me a CLI. She did say that after 3 on-time payments they would automatically give me a CLI. I guess we will see what that turns out to be.Thanks
zfire Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 Wasn't all the information pointed out in the original offer you got in the mail? Card fee, Interest rates, when you would get the automatic CLI? Go back and dig out that offer. Also, you can sign up with Cap1 online, and find out real fast if you have a card fee.

As I suspected, there is absolutely nothing in there stating that this "product" isn't eligible for customer requested CLI's.
stefdr Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 I started out at $300 and was raised to $500 and apparently my particular "product" does not go any higher. Don't believe that, I was told several times that $500 was the "best we can offer at this time" and that I was welcome to apply for another card to get a higher limit. I finally called and told them just to cancel my card if they weren't going to raise the limit. Instant CLI to $1000.

If you don't mind me asking, what was your util. on the card at that time and how long had you had it for?
