I have disputed with the 3 credit bureaus, about an account that is not my account it shows that this account was opened in 10/2004 and last active on 2/05 (American General Finance) (Revolving charge $2010.00) It is a profit and loss. The Buareaus said they verified and did not remove this item (however they removed items that were legitamite) I then wrote a letter to American General Finance Using the formatt that is included on this site requesting validation. American General then wrote me a letter. As Follows

" To whom it may concern:

The purpose of this letter is to deliver the encolsed Affidavit of Forgery.

In order to complete our investigation of possible fraudulent activity on the above referenced account, the enclosed forms must be completed, notarized by a notary, and returned to us within 30 days of the date of this letter. Please print and write your name ten times on the sheet labeled "Handwriting Samples". Also, enclose a copy of your recent driver's license or state identification card and any police reports that may have been filed. If we do not receive your response in that time, we will consider the matter resolved and close our file."

They then included the affidavit of forgery.

My question is do I fill out the affidavit or is there something else I do? I appreciate your response.

If this is not your account I would file the police report and follow through with the identity theft complaint. I'm sure others have more experience with this but since it is an OC I don't see the conspiracy theories fitting. The affidavit is just a legal form stating that you are stating that this account is not yours and was opened fraudulently.
