Private Pyle
I am a newbie and I am just starting down the path of credit repair. I would appreciate some feedback/help with one key items on my CR. Back in 1998 my employer screwed up paying my taxes and I ended up with a $5k tax bill that I was unable to pay. Long story short is that federal tax lien was placed on me that was released two or three years ago. Do I have any hope in getting this removed or am I up a creek on this entry? Thanks! 1flyfisher
If you can get the IRS to list the lien as "Filed in Error" then the CRA will pull it right off your credit report.Other than that there is nothing (that I am aware of) you can do to get liens removed. Archer
Thanks! If I have no success w/ the IRS how long can I expect it appear on my credit?Paid Federal tax liens will remain on your CR for seven (7) years.Unpaid Federal tax liens will remain on your CR for ten (10) years or more (I think).
