tmac01
I have a medical collection I'm trying to rid so bad and its reporting On TU under Original Creditor:MED1 01 Dr's Name D D S (shows he is a dentist)I thought under HIPPA that they could not report what type of DR it is !! Is this a violation ? If so of the CRA or CA or Both ? Thanks !
Robert Nashville/Savannah
I can't say I have any specific knowledge about this (I'm sure someone who does will answer). However, it might be that if this doctor's name, including the D.D.S. designation IS the name of the corporation, then it may be there really is not choice in how the name of the original creditor is reported. Recovering Attorney
You can't disclose personal medical info. The fact that you owe a DDS money is not medical info, imo. There is no private right of action under HIPPA
tarbaby
Hippa violations happen when the ca sends you documents from the oc with medical procedure type information on it. That information is private. The fact that a ca is collecting a debt from a doc isnt.
tmac01
Thats what I thought !! Since its the CA collecting for the OC then HIPPA has nothing to do with it !! Thanks guys
