Macattack
A friend that worked for a skip trace company did me a favor a while back and ran a background check on me. He came back with an eviction that NEVER happened. To make it worse, he said the eviction was also in my wife's name. How is this even possible?Again, we have NEVER been evicted from anywhere and no such information shows up on either of our credit reports. Don't you have to go to court to get an 'eviction' on someone? Meaning that if you're evicted there will be court records of the event or some paper trail? Is it possible for someone to just report an eviction out of spite, with no court involvement? swirlgirl
I doubt it's spite. Do you have a common name? Have you ever lived at the property claiming eviction? Have you contacted the property? It could be a simple mix up. If you want real answers, start make a few phone calls or better yet, write some letters.

Macattack
Where would one report an eviction?-rAnother good question. Unfortunately, I never saw the reported eviction myself. So I have no idea who reported it, where it was reported, whom to write..etc.
tonitunes
Do they list the address you were supposidly evicted from? If so I would start by calling that landlord. If not... I have no idea how you would begin to find out what's going on.
Macattack
Do they list the address you were supposedly evicted from? If so I would start by calling that landlord. If not... I have no idea how you would begin to find out what's going on.I wish but no. All they told me was my wife and I had a eviction on our records.Which 'records' they might be and where it would be from is a mystery. But my question is still valid, is it possible to have an eviction reported if you have never been evicted, never been served papers, never been to court?
