Question on DOLA or DOFD

Hopefully someone can help me and answer this question that I have been search on. I'm trying to figure out the date of when my Crap One account will fall off my credit report. TU states that it should fall of in 3/2012 but I don't think that's the correct date.

When trying to calculate the correct date how do I go about it. EX...I have a credit limit of $900 become deliquent on it, overlimit and late fees are charged. Make a few payments here and there but never bring the account current and eventually it becomes charged off do I go by the charged off date or does it matter that I made a few payments here and there and it was never brought current.

And since TU isn't reporting any credit history I can't figure out what dates I was even late on.

Hopefully someone can help me with this.

By law, its 7-1/2 years (most CRAs delete at 7 years (the law is somewhat confusing)) from the DOFD...which is the date on which the account went delinquent and was never brought current. Occasional, insufficient payments shouldn't change that.

The charge off date is immaterial.

If TU is not reporting the DOFD, send them a "investigation" letter pointing that out.

Last I looked, TU doesn't list DOFD, only an 'estimated date of removal' or some nonsense like that. EQ recently added this datafield. EX doesn't reference it at all.

We KNOW they have the DOFD because, by law (FCRA 1681s-2, Subsection 623) DF's are required to provide it to the CRA's within 90 days of supplying TL info. Contact both TU and EX and request the month/year that begins Reporting Period. Double check what you get against your EQ report and insist that the DF report this consistently to all three.

This is the problem that I am having. It is only show up on my TU report. Igot it removed from the other two EQ and EX. Tu is not showing any payment history and I have old statement from 2003 that shows it was overdue and no available credit but I think it was before that. Not to mention that they let it go for about 2 years before they finally decided to charge it off. How nice a $900 CL to over $1600.

If you think that's sweet of them, you should try actually closing a Crap 1 account. Sweet Jesus, it takes an act of congress almost.

Tell me about it on the crap one account when I told them to close it they told me they would close it when I have a 0 balance and not before then. It even says so on 2 or 3 of the statements that I have.

I would try searching through your bank records and determine the DOFD by looking at your payment history, assuming that you made your payments through your bank somehow either electronically or with checks you should be able to tell what month you missed first....
