JRog
I have settled a few of my accounts already but didn't have enough funds to settle all before the others were charged off. Will CAs negotiate settlements on accounts?

scorch
Ok...thanks! Where is the newbie primer? It is on this page:http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=173In reference to your question, CAs will usually settle for 50 - 60 cents on the dollar. If you do that, try to get the derog removed from your report.

nascar
If you're trying to settle for less than the amount owed, make sure you know who you're dealing with. It's been said a million times but worth remembering, "CA's LIE."You'll think you're settling for less than the amount owed only to find yourself being hounded by another CA for the remaining balance at some point down the road. Any and all agreements should be made between you and the creditor ... period. If the CA objects to a settlement where the creditor signs the agreement, they probably were not assigned the right to negotiate a lesser amount in the first place...even though they will claim they do. Be careful.
