Neiman Marcus shows the love

Recommended Posts

On the wife's urging I recently applied for a Nieman Marcus card and got the online message that they needed more time to process my application. Around 3am I was roaming the apartment and I decided to check and it said I needed to call to verify some information. I have seen this before due to a fraud alert on my Equifax file and was feeling pretty optimistic. This morning I signed on again to get the 800 number I did not write down in the night and it had switched back to the original message with no number to call ! So I looked on the Neiman Marcus site and called their main credit customer service number. They transferred me twice and finally I got to someone who asked me 3 security questions. Here's the punch line - instant approval $3,000 line of credit. That will help my utilization big time !

Did youhave any negs on EQ? Check this out- i was looking at NM website and there is contest for a 3500$ shopping spree...well i always read the fine print- mostly to see how they notifiy the winner and look what it says about canadians....

As an additional condition of winning the prize(s), a Canadian winner must correctly answer the following skill- testing question: (224x18) + (9672/12) - 1119= ; within ten (10) days of receipt of written prize notification or prize(s) will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.

What in the world- they dont want Canada to win...ok now im off to figure out the answer just in case...and no i dont live in canada...Wonder if they want that answer in French..Oui Oui...

In Canada, EVERY contest has a skill testing question attached to it. You must "legitimately" win in order to claim the prize. I know, stupid, but that's how things are up there.

And the answer is 3719

And if they want it en francais, it would be trois mille sept cent dix-neuf 8-)

On Equifax I have 2 released federal liens , one released state lien , a discharged Chapter 7 from 2004 and a single late from 23 months ago on an account which is now current. Oh and there is an active fraud alert on the account and at the time of the application I had two inquiries.

So yeah - I would say that's not exactly a clean slate. Still - I think I slipped through due to low utilization and good payment histories elsewhere.

Neiman Marcus....based out of my hometown...Dallas...The flagship store is there....The Neimans card is more like an American Express...you don't actually have a limit...you can call in to credit :)++if you're deciding on a larger purchase for a credit limit increase.
