Fairy Enchantress
I disputed a CA with a credit bureau. The SOL is way past by several years. It will fall off the credit report in about a year. It came back verified with the credit bureau. I also received a letter from the CA. It said we received your dispute, the balance you owe is $, please pay now. 1. I am wondering if they can send a letter trying to collect a debt from that long ago, past the SOL. I sent a DVL and they did give me proper validation.2. And if the debt can't be collected per the SOL, can they resell it?
PrincessAmy
Remember, unless you are in a state of repose, they can continue to collect, and sue, you just have an affirmative defense.I would either send them a "nice try" 2nd DV or a 623 letter.
