Should i despute these as to old??

Ok everyone was so help full with my last question i thought i would give it another shot.

As i said in my other thread i have about 8 neg. items about to fall off my credit report here in the next 12 mo. most in the first 5 mo. of 2009 including one for a car repo.

so my question is should i send letters to the CRA stating that they are to old and hope they remove them. or is it to early for that letter? or should i handle these differently?

I would do nothing with items that close to being obsolete. They are not "too old to report" but will be soon. So just wait it out, or face renewed collection efforts.

And remember, even when they age off your credit reports, they are still collectible debts.

And technically, when you dispute an item, the CRA is supposed to contact the furnisher of the that item before they take any action. You might wake a couple of sleeping dogs...

I did that one time and then they updated the DOFD (which they updated correctly after I looked into it) and it made the line stay on an extra year.

If it's getting ready to fall off it's not impacting you much anyway.

Doing that at this point would be a mistake - you would likely just be maknig a headache for yourself.
