Humphammer
Hello there from the state of Tennessee! I am a new guy and this is such a wonderful site.I have been trying to repair after a tough go in a marriage that hurt my credit. I have gotten some unsecured cards, which I pay on time. Am an AU on a good AMEX, so I can travel for my work. Already in all the house I need. Car situation OK, buy older stuff and pay cash.Credit is in the low 500 range and seems to be climbing. My question is for you all--Do I just keep paying on time and let it ride or will I benifit from taking a few swipes at these NCO/Fin losers? Thanks a bunch you all! lovebug5
IMO, the greatest benefit comes from a dual rebuild-repair process.
JustaTexan
I'm not really following you here. So there are some bad items on your report? You're asking if you should ignore them or start trying to fight them?
Humphammer
I really would enjoy taking a few shots at the CA scumbags who gave me so much trouble for so long. Thanks!

Humphammer
Yes Deanna there are several neg items on the CR. I have lots of late stuff, and a couple of old bills that never got paid in the $500-$1000 range, some in SOL, some out. One judgement that I am now fighting in court.I have been able to get 6 unsecured cards, limits from $300-$1200, which I don't overcharge and ALWAYS pay on time for the past 10-12 months. Would you all suggest more cards?NCO/FIN has a few negatives, as well as some medical stuff I didn't even know about due to new address. Thanks so much. Thanks so much. When you say some are in the SOL, do you mean reporting or sueing SOL? I don't know your specific state laws, but in TX the sueing is 4 years and the reporting is 7. If you are out of sueing range for all of these I'd say dispute them first. Alot of them will probably just drop off, depending on which OC/CA they are with.I would say no more cards for now. Humphammer
All out of sueing, but still in reporting. I am glad to get started on this.
JustaTexan
All out of sueing, but still in reporting. I am glad to get started on this.http://www.cardreport.com/laws/statute-of-limitations.htmlYou're in TN right? They have a 6 year sueing SOL. Please make sure you are out of it first before you start your battle. If you made payments within 6 yeras you might or might not have reset the SOL. If you are 100% sure that you are in the clear, then go get em'! And good luck!
