kydraftsman73
I sent NCO a timely DV about 3 weeks ago and today I received a letter from the OC thanking me for contacting them about my account but I will need to contact NCO for assistance on my account. The thing is I never sent the OC any letters or have talked to them about the account. Could it be NCO pretending to be me to get information from the OC. will35010
I would just ignore it. NCO will be in violation if they fail to respond. At least you'll be able to get a judgment and get that off you CRs.
Robert Nashville/Savannah
You are likely just dealing with the incompetence that passes for good business practice today. It may well be that NCO contacted the OC, probably because of your request for validation, and the OC can't tell the difference between their CA contacting them regarding your alleged account and you contacting them; hence their idiot letter telling you to contact the CA.As was noted, that does not take the responsibility from the CA to properly respond to yoru DV (assuming they respond at all). If you really want to cover your bases, you might fire off another letter to NCO documenting what happened and "advising" then that a letter from the OC telling you to contact NCO for validation information is NOT validation! kydraftsman73
Guess what, I just checked my credit reports and guess who's showing on Experian, you guessed it NCO just reported today. I'm in the process of drafting a nice little letter to them and the credit reporting agency. Even in their initial dunning letter they stated it may be reported if I didn't dispute it in 30 days which I did send them the DV letter with in two days of receiving it. Sent it on the 14th July and they signed the green card on the 17th July. It's not even marked disputed on the CR. I'm making a copy of everything for my records so I can nail them if they ever decide to sue me. The way Asset Acceptance did me I no longer just sit idling by. CACH tried suing me, after I sent them a DV, with out validating I had all my letters I sent to them and they folded and dismissed with prejudice. Still fighting Asset and it's been over an year since the filed the suit. I owe a big thanks to all the members and the whole website for all the great advice, I have learned a great deal of valuable information.
kydraftsman73
Well guess what, before I even got to send that 2nd DV to NCO I receive a letter from them informing me they have closed the account in their offices and to contact Capital One for any inquiries regarding the alleged debt. They are also still reporting on my credit reports so I went and changed the letter I was about to send demanding they remove their TL on my reports. I am having a blast with this, Cap1 sends me a letter last week informing me to direct inquiries to NCO and this week get one from NCO directing me to contact Cap1 for the inquiries.
