TU dispute

Recommended Posts

Disputed several things with TU on July 7th (CMRRR). Nothing shows on any report I pull (I've read it will show disputed).. I pull from TU itself and there member plan and then I have truecredit plan as well. Yesterday I ordered the three reports from myfico.com.. nothing there either but all accounts disputed are still showing.

How do I know-other than the fact that I got the CMRRR back that they have started looking into it and now that 30 days are up, what now?

I did recieve one letter from RJM stating they recieved the dispute request from TU and they sent me my balance etc. That is all...

? Do they send out something to all creditors, then allow 30 days and then start acting after 30 days? Do I need to follow up and just redispute? Is it ok to call at this point since initial contact was made via snail mail?

Thanks for any advice.

They have 30 days from the day you get back the green card, allow for 5 additional days for mail time.

Don't contact them until the 35 days are up. That way they don't extend the investigation period by 15 days. They can do that if you call them up before the investigation is over.

Well nothing ever showed up as 'disputed' but I did just get the letter yesterday and out of the 10 I disputed, 5 were deleted.

3 of the ones that were not deleted were LVNV.. I didn't expect much there but hoped they'd at least fix the dates. 2 were Wash/providian. 1 says it was updated and the other change is it says it was verified in 11/05!

Ugh.. both of those accounts are old-2001 as and should be coming off now.. not in the 2 years they are stating so I need to figure out step 2.

My score did go up about 60pts.

Do you have any back copies of the credit report showing the correct date, if you do you could send a copy of the to the credit reporting agency.

You might send a ITS letter to the company - pointing out that you are aware that they re-aged the account and if they don't fix the reporting that you may just take them to court.

Send a request for debt validation to get them to provide the proof that the debt is older then the credit report is showing. That is another option.
