New Job Update....

Well ya'll know about the problem on my new job...my boss took me to a meeting today with personel and I was transferred and given a raise....

I'm not sure exactly what happened, But the boss pulled me aside at 2:15, said we need to go before you get off so we can get this over with? I thought they were going to get rid of me out of fear of my possible harassment problems. Instead they told me they had an opening in a different department and they wanted to know if I was interested? They said they had no problems with my preformance or attendence, but they thought I would do better in a different job, one where I did not have to relate with so many people (Ya mean FRED?)

I think they wanted to make Fred the supervisor and could not with me in the way....so I toured the area and talked to my new boss and then with personel again, they offered me a 1.00 an hour raise and the weekend hours that I wanted the job for in the first place...so I accepted and am happy no more Fred...

I will have to drive 30 miles to work but only 3 days a week...so the raise should cover my cost of gas...I will let you guys know who the new department is...it's shipping and recieving

You would have been very happy if you got canned....

Retaliation suits pay very very well. :D

But I'm very happy this worked out well for you.

Your former bosses pretty much did the textbook covering of the buttocks.....they're happy, you're happy and Fred is happy. They aborted the problem before it got a chance to get to the first trimester.

They did not get rid of the problem...they just moved me. I am sure he will harass someone else at some time in the future, right now he and his drinking buddy can do their thing...but he will be hung if he ever has any other complaints against him.

And I am going to ride this for what it's worth....

I like this company....

Glad to hear you are ok. I think that company you work for has just shot itself in the foot. You went on the record and that is good. This Fred guy may not stop, I hope and pray he leaves you alone.

From reading your other post it seems he has an obsesive personality. If he leaves you alone he will probably attach to some other female. They should have fired him, becareful. :)

I was just saying how they most likely saw it, not with how we see it. The guy is a total sleeze, but he has pull with the inner circle.

Can you imagine the private conversations they might have had about you? I would bet my entire lines of credit against yours that it was not flattering and that the b-word was probably uttered no less than 1 time.

Do not misunderstand me, by no means am I saying they're right...but them being guys and in position of power...it is a good guess that they saw you as a problem which is why they offered you the move.

Best of luck to you and ALWAYS watch your back.

Sadly, you are 100% percent correct. Sadder still, far too many companies, even good decent ones, just aren't interested in doing the right thing, let alone seeing justice. They just wanna avoid a lawsuit, but it strikes me as foolish when they have someone who's a harassment suit ticking timebomb. Guess they figger Fred could just as easily sue 'em, so just placate and cover over the whole thing.

That's all that matters. Find a place yer happy, do what you can to do good, but there's just too many things ya ain't gonna ever change. Corporate world today demands the serenity prayer for most employees.

I'm happy in my new gig, been there now 2 months. Whole lotta stuff we do wrong and should do better, if not correctly. More than a few other coworkers, contract and perm, feel the same way. But, there's a line ya try and press up near, find it, then stay back away from it.
