wanttobedebtfree
I went to court today for a Cap 1 debt. The warrent in debt said I owed $848, + 28.5% interest. The Lawfirm sent me paperwork stateing I owed over $1100 though. I told the judge I contested the amount and wanted a bill of particulars. He sent me to talk to the lawyers first to try and work somthing out. The lawfirm on behalf of cap1 brought the $1100 total they claimed I owed, down to the $848 as stated on the court papers, and brought the intrest down fron 28.5% to 6%. I have to pay $50 a month until its paid, and no judgement was brough against me. I think it went really well, what do you think?

JustaTexan
I don't claim to know a thing about courts and how they are ran, but it sounds like you did good. Good job on contesting the amount! xdancexxdancexxdancexMake sure you are never late on that payment every month though!
swirlgirl
Was the case dismissed? If not, you want to check the official ruling.
Diane08
And, you want to make sure you get a WRITTEN agreement that everything will be removed of your credit reports regarding this account when it is paid in full.EVERYTHING IN WRITING!!!! I can't stress that enough!!!
astiman
Oddly enough, it DOEs look like it went well, providing that:Crap 1 lives up to their end of the agreement and PUTS IT IN WRITING IN ADVANCE.If they do that, then Good for you!By the way, does the court stipulations specifically say that you don't have to pay their legal cost? If it doesn't, watch out!
