Wal-Mart card

Recommended Posts

Received my new Wal-Mart card last night. They denied me twice in the past three years so when I received a pre-approval offer two weeks ago, I filled it out just for the heck of it. The card arrived and I activated it last night. $850 limit. Since I refuse to shop there, it will be the ultimate sock drawer card.

fyi- they're underwritten by GE Money Bank.

Where did you get your preapproval? I'm guessing in the mail; if you don't shop there, I guess it's hard to get one on a receipt. I think I just answered my own question...it's early and I started typing before processing your whole post.

lb, most of the employees do LMAO

Actually, most of the employees I've met are very nice, and helpful and do not smell of urine and popcorn. I think this is a very childish thing to say about people you don't even know. (Yes, some of the stores I have been in to are dirty and smell).

Ya, sure, some really don't want to be there, but it's the only job they've got.

In fact, I'd rather shop at walmart than Target for the very reason that I've had better customer service at WM.

The customers on the other hand, at least in my town, are a different story.

YEs VB, it is a mean thing to say about people I don't even know, but here in ga where I live I know them all because i shop there alot and most there do fall into this catagory! So I am not saying that they all have this NO smell good policy and the dont' help people policy, but my area does lol.... Sorry if i upset you, i didn't mean to!

I'm editing my post because it probably wasn't it good taste. But I'm sorry - the preceding conversation had me LOL-ing, and I don't LOL very often about anything I read on the computer!!

When it comes down to it, I can't say that I've ever smelled any Wal-Mart employees. If the P. and U. odor is so bad you can't avoid it from three feet away, though, at your local store, then I don't blame people for shopping elsewhere!

Well I haven't shopped a WW in years because I can never find a parking spot, people let their kids run wild, some old lady is always hitting me with her cart, and some cooky looking man always seems to be stalking me.

Don't know much about how the employees smell. LB you would think the Target employees would smell more like stale popcorn. You know with the popcorn machine right there by them and all.:lol::lol::lol:

It is pretty much common knowledge that Tar-gey targets (no pun intended) the moderate middle class folk while Walmart targets the class below...

Either way, after watching that documenatary on Walmart, as well as their attempts to kill any unionizing of their employees so that they can enjoy simple benefits like the rest of America, I refuse to seriously patronize them for major shopping.

The way Walmart does business and treats their employees is almost criminal but I guess when you get that big, you stop caring.

That's a lot of generalizing about Target and Wal-Mart shoppers. I'm not sure that type of elitist conversation is welcome here.

*I just realized, whether this is off the point or not, that my local shiny, new, Wal-Mart Super Center has a nail salon in the front of it. And a "second-chance" "bank" as well. (Is Woodforest a real bank, by the way?)

** It is! I think that would be a good way to go, if second-chance banking were needed, seriously. I went with a small, local bank, but in areas where those are not easily found and/or the banks are not friendly, I think Woodforest might be the big-box version of the same thing.

Yeah, but the alleged hygiene of Walmart employees is ok? Based on three Target stores in my immediate area, I can pretty much state with confidence that I'm not generalizing the per-capita area these stores are located is NOT on the low side. Much different than generalizing about folks who work on their own cars or frequent nail salons.

I can tell you this though. Whether I have $1 or $1 million in my pocket...I can never be an elitist. A realist, perhaps, but never elitist. I was always brought up to be humble. Dad taught me well, in that aspect of life.
