shdubu
I did find a few things in the search but they were from pretty far back.History - I received the collection notice and scheduled a payment to pay the debt in full, $100.00, they didn't take the money out of my account I called them and they said the balance was paid in full, well two months later they took the money out and it got sent back for non sufficient funds, then they started reporting on my CR's. Have any of you recently had to deal with them, I have a new collection from them that I want to do a PFD with, its small so no matter what I want to get it paid off. Were they responsive at all to your request?Re: Credit Management Inc
lovebug5
CMI was on my report and was repeatedly violating both the FCRA and FDCPA by reporting an account completely incorrectly. I was successful in getting them off of my report based upon violation after violation that I had documented, in addition to a well-written ITS letter. It doesn't appear that you have any violations against them, so your situation is a bit different than mine. If you knew that CMI did not take the $100 out of your account, why did you spend it?
Ravenous Wolf
If you knew that CMI did not take the $100 out of your account, why did you spend it?Unfortunately, that is a huge weakness for a lot of people, including myself who is a paycheck to paycheck sort of person. That is why I turned into nearly a cash basis person because there is no way I can trust what will be in my bank account at any given day. I even pay my mortgage in cash. But it goes to show that if your finances are tight, then don't rely on these kinds of electronic transfers that could sock you with insufficient funds fees. shdubu
I spent it because my spending habits were not the best at that time, we did not keep balances in our checking account and when I called they said it was paid in full, I just assumed that they already took it.We of course have a better handle on things now. hiblues
I just assumed that they already took it.then you should have waited to see it come off your statement..the truth is... ( and I have been there)you hoped that they forgot about it orit fell through the cracks...and now that it hasn't you are lookingto blame someone other than yourself. The phone call you made should have included you saying," it hasn't been withdrawn yet.. what up"
LUEser
HB, I tend to disagree with a lot of what you post, but this time, I do believe you were spot on. A lot of the bigger corporations have a very turtle like financial processing system. Happened to me recently when paying my phone bill. Paid on August 28th, still not hit my bank account. Called verizon and said, "Hey guys, when are going to take my payment, it's sitting in the bank...?" And they said, "We've already received it." But it's not processed yet on my side of the banking tandem. BTW, @ OP, have you cleared it up yet?
