Redwingz71
I have a medical account that is 6 years old and is reported by CMRE Financial Svcs. Last week a duplicate account appeared on my EX that possessed the same info except it had a slightly different account number. In my haste to fix this easy problem I filed an online dispute with EX explaining this. Just a couple of days later EX provided an UPDATED to the account. I don't believe they bothered to even read my explaination on the dispute. In any case, what discourse do I have in this matter. Should I appeal the dispute via CMRRR? Do I need to send a specific request to CMRE. The amount is small enough that I might ask for a PFD however it is expected to come off next August. My problem it I feel that they are attempting something that I should be more aggressive towards, but I am not sure as to what to do.
bigswanging23
Well, have you received a response from EX about your dispute yet? They do have 30 days in which to investigate.I'd wait to hear the results before I rushed off trying to do a PFD. Besides, a 6 year old account probably isn't affecting your score too much, and it's gonna fall off your reports in a year of so anyway.

Their investigation is over. In my explainatio to them I gave the old and new tradeline and explained that the only difference was an altered account number. swirlgirl
Redwing, they don't read the letters in depth. They skim the letter and condense it down to a 2 digit computer code. Are both tradelines from the same OC/CA? Is one from the OC and the other from a CA?

After the first tradeline was updated on 8/25 with EX (only CRA reporting it) the new tradeline with an altered account number was placed with TU and EX on 8/31, of which EX updated after online dispute on 9/3. Again, aside from a variation to the account numbers the TL's are identical and are reported from the same CA.
