Anyone have experience with Verizon ?

Hello:

I was wondering if anyone has had first hand experience when becoming delinquent on a personal Verizon cell phone bill. I am curious since Verizon does not create trade lines over the course of your account if they go out of their way to report a write-off in the case of a delinquency.

My experience with write-offs from Sprint is that they do not report the write-off upon sale of the debt.

Anyone out here experience anything with Verizon?

Thanks for your time,

I am not familiar with verizon, but i do know from working in the wireless biz. that that kind of service falls under utility whether they report or not if you default the next time you need to open gas, electric, water, they will require a deposit.

Interesting you mentioned that, because I defaulted on a Sprint bill, and did not require any form of deposit to open a new wireless account with a different provider...nor did I with utility companies.

What reporting agency/database do utility companies utilize. In order for a utility company to see a default on a cell phone bill, they must utilize a CRA of one form or another. Which CRA or reporting database did your company use?

I had a charge-off of $54 from an old verizon bill I never got when I closed my account. They added a utility tradeline and placed it in "Collections/Charge-off" status. I had to pay that $54 several years later when I wished to re-establish service. The TL remains on my report to this day as a paid collectoin, despite multiple challenges, GW letters, etc. If you have the chance to clear this up prior to it being listed on your reports, I'd recommend you do it.

I have Verizon showing as derogatory/unknown/chargeoff/collection. I have been able to get them removed from one CR so far, but probably because its due to drop off 11/08, my husbands was sold to Midland. Verison is comletely gone from his report and now its just Midland reporting.

I had a charge off from Verizon wireless that came back verified by the credit reporting agency to my surprise. The Original Creditor Verizon try to validate the debt but was unsecessful. They still continued to report me to the reporting agency so I reported them for violation the FTC laws. I reported them to the BBB, the attorney state general office in my state and the FTC . You can do the same on line it will only take a few minutes and Verizon Wireless will be forced to contact you within 10 days asking you what it is that you will want.

Good Luck

verizon does and will send u to a collection agency and will post a charge off on all 3 of your reports. and in quick time too. i am still fighting with them to this day to get a paid charge off off my reports. it falls off in a year though from SOL, but i want if off now! and every few months they report it wrong and it shows as a collection and i have to call and b*tch em out.

ive tried numerous good wills letters and nothing has worked as of yet.
