cheyenne52883
I disputed my fiancees Unifund account online on 8/8/08. As of today I have not received a response. What do I do next? Do a second dispute online?
swirlgirl
Did you check the status online? The CRAs are getting away from giving a new paper CR when you do an online dispute
cheyenne52883
Maybe I should have specified. I disputed it online on Unifund's website... They have an area where you can dispute accounts on their website.
swirlgirl
I'd love to hear other opinions on this. But depending on how you worded your request or how their system is set up, I don't know if this would count as a valid DV request. Therefore, they are nut under any obligation to respond. Why not just send them a letter?
cheyenne52883
If you go to their website and make an account it will log you on and show accounts you owe. Then there are tabs that say "DISPUTE" and "RESLOVE".. I clicked "DISPUTE and then it has a box that says "ENTER YOUR DISPUTE HERE" and a box that tells you the typical "The communication is from a debt collector" blah, blah, blah... You then hit "SUBMIT MY DISPUTE" and it has a page to print out for your records...I have already disputed this account with the CRA's and Unifund by letter several times... They sent me "proof" once and it was nothing more than a screen print from their own computer.
