deltadawn
We had an incredible time. Amazing places, amazing people.I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. Unfortunately my international travel is extremely limited - so anxious to hear about yours.Have you ever considered South Africa? Went there a couple of years ago and it was awesome. (DH initial response was - South Africa would not even be in my top 100 places to visit and could not believe I had booked it - but, now we both want to go back!) J_Snow
OK, for some reason, the slideshow version of the pics has a reflection on the bottom of the slides that the original prints do not. But, here they are, broken out by city so you can pick and choose. There are *a lot* and sorry, there are some dupes.I take some pics to go with others, so you will see some detailed shots, then a shot showing where the detail is (top of columns for example).Sorry, there are not any captions...AthensEgyptEphesus/TurkeyFlorenceMykonos/GreecePompeiiRomeVeniceRhodes/GreeceEnjoy!Oh, wait... the password is: med2008Just checking if you are paying attention!hehe

Fairy Enchantress
Welcome back!I am happy for you. The trip looks incredible! A chance of a lifetime! Thank you for sharing! The old architecture is beautiful in all of the places you traveled to. Oh, cute pictures of the two cats in Athens! The water in Rhodes is gorgeous! I really enjoyed thumbing throughout the pictures. I would have loved to eat in Greece. I love Greek food! What was the food like in Turkey?Which was your favorite place? J_Snow
You didn't like Egypt? That's one of the few places in the Middle East I've never seen and still want to go.I do like Italy, Greece and Turkey but I can't really say I want to go again. There were so many *agressive* camel jockeys and hucksters at the pyramids that it totally ruined the entire visit. Plus all the camel sh!t everywhere you could barely move. Plus the Pyramids are in the city-they are on a plateau-but still right in the city-you can see that in the later pics that I posted of Egypt. We do go into the Muhammid Ali Mosque in Cairo... now THAT was abso amazing. Highlight of egypt for me by far. There are photos of that in there too. They built that entire mosque and the citadel around it with stones taken from the pyramids in the 1800s-before the discovery of the Rosetta Stone they just thought the pyramids were piles of stone that they used whenever they had something to build. The great Pyramid used to be 9m taller and 6m wider than it is today.
