oakum
I have been working at fixing my credit after a divorce. I just got custody of my kids and found a house that I bought on a land contract. The person I bought the home from is still using the address for her residency, she is even running for a county office Nov 4th using this address!!! The CRA's won't recognise this address as residential (I suppose she must have a business addressed there) so it's effecting my fico because my adresses don't match. So far I haven't had any trouble with the schools or voting, but what if ???She says that because she is the deed holder, she can claim the home as her residence. BUT my name is on the property taxes, what gives???Thanks
flacorps
Have you called her opponent's campaign manager?
jq26
Good call flacorp. That should blow this little scam wide open.
oakum
I might still do that. She's running as a Libertarian so she's not a big threat to the other 2. But really I want to know basically, does she have the right to claim residency just because she still holds the deed. I can care less if she runs for dog catcher. merrybucks
Your state AG's office might be interested if not then the county Attorney. What she is doing could be considered election fraud. Most offices have residency requirements. In order to meet those requirements you have to actually live at the address you say you do.
