lolah
I am taking my husband with me as a cosigner. I am going to US Bank because that is who I bank with and I have nothing but good things to say about them. I still have not gotten all the fraud off my reports and took a small hiatus after having my son. So, my reports still have fraud alerts, but nothing shows in dispute anymore either. There are some collections that are more than two years old that are actually mine. A few new derogatories popped up that are NOT mine recently. UGH. I am not sure what report US Bank pulls in OH. I should check into that...Anyway, my husband has a score of 800+, so I don't forsee problems, but, I haven't ordered my FICO's. My FACO's are still pretty low. EQ is the highest at 640.Oh yeah, we have to do this now because he is leaving for Iraq in a few weeks...so it can't wait.Any thoughts?
jq26
Good luck lolah. Push 'em a bit if you have to. With an 800 FICO co-signer, you should do well. Keep us posted.
gourgi18
I will caution you a bit about using US Bank for an auto refinance. I was going to do the same thing because they sent me a teaser card through the mail. They use a company named CARS of St Louis for auto refinance. It may be a subsidiary, I am not sure. I contacted a loan officer after them leaving a message that my app had been approved. The rate(7.16) was quite a bit higher than the teaser rate(4.99) and only slightly lower than my current rate.(8.95) Also the loan officer was rather slick and kept trying to shove extras into the loan and did not want to take no for an answer about an extended warranty. He kept me on the phone at least thirty minutes longer than necessary because he was trying to sell me stuff. I got the papers a few days later and decided since I already had done the damage of the inquiry to see if I could get a better deal with a local credit union who had also sent a postcard to my house. In the end the CU gave me 5.15 rate (lowest of their refi rates) and never tried to sell me anything. You say that you are happy with US Bank and I hope they do right by you on this deal. They completely ruined any chance of me using them for anything in the future because they put their name on this CARS company.
lolah
Well, I just found out that my loan was denied because I have no credit history and a BK from 2001. My husbands good credit wasn't good enough. I just don't get it! They pulled EQ, which is my best report, clean except for the BK.
JustaTexan
Sorry Lolah!Do you want an in-person bank or would you be okay with applying online? I used Up2drive.com (bmw financial), and I love them. They are the nicest people I have ever done business with. I refinanced both me and exhubby's car and they gave us 8.25% and we have borderline okay credit. Scores were low 600's. We each had a couple of old collections on reports when we applied.Good luck!
