Lulu123
I received a dunning letter in March from Global Vantedge, sent DV right away. Today September 26 I get copies of statements from the OC saying thank you for your inquire, here is your proof, your account is now with Aegis.Since I sent the DV to Global Vantedge does this validation count for Aegis? If I get a dunning letter from Aegis, should I DV them too? Also, Is it a violation of my rights for a CA to get a credit report on you? I have inquires from some CA's. I thought I had to give authorization for someone to run a credit check.
swirlgirl
It sounds like the debt has been validated. You received documentation directly from the OC. Do you need anything else? If Aegis sends you a DV, sure you can send a DV. But why? It's obvious that the debt has been validated.A CA can pull your CR if they have permissable purpose, which includes being hired by the OC to collect the debt. So, that is not a violation. smurfette in nyc
Lulu, what you didn't indicate is whether or not the OC still owns the debt? Are Global and Aegis acting as a CA for the OC, or are they JDB's, having purchased the debt? Also, is the debt still in SOL? These things make a huge difference in how you should be handling this debt.
Lulu123
It is not out of SOL. I just got a dunning letter from NCO on this account. So it went from Global Vantedge, I sent DV, got validation from OC saying it is with Aegis and I should deal with them and now I get a dunning letter from NCO. How the heck and I supposed to know who to deal with? I'm sending a DV to NCO. Also it says I should send payment to NCO not the OC. Does that mean they purchased the debt? At the top it says they have been requested by the OC to assist them in collection.

You certainly want to make sure you deal with the right person and that any eventual payments are to the right person.DH
