I started out about like you. I worked hard for several months and got my score up to 629 for the highest. It can be done, just hang in there.

Thanks for the positive feed back...I have been working on it off and on for a few years, but this time I am following through all the way.:)I had a lot more bads on my CRs than that but I have had good luck in getting them removed here and there.

Tom,

What had helped me with many of my bads was the 1-2 punch method, followed by the BBB method. I had about the same negs as you, and now I'm down to 3-4 (plus the darned lien). Have you found the flow chart on the regular creditinfocenter.com page yet?

No I have not seen the flow chart, I have seen the DV page, and the

623, and sue creditors pages. I really would like to get the sallie maes to stop reporting late 120days on tu that is nine neg TL's I could have off. I consolidated my loans and I dont see how they can be reporting me late like that.:) I would like to learn more of that method you are talking about AA...Eloborate more on that if you can please...TY Tommy:) PS I tried searching for that and nothing came up

Is that the 1 2 punch method?

Yup, yup. Remember though, that's only for your CAs. You use this one for your OC's (the 623 method).

http://www.creditinfocenter.com/repair/DisputingWithOriginalCreditor.shtml

This link is pretty much is the general way you want to organize your attack:

http://www.creditinfocenter.com/repair/Repair.shtml

This is when your "patients" start getting tested...I had no patience period when I started this but you are pretty forced. You're an ex-Army guy, so you pretty much know about the "hurry up and wait" process. You'll be doing more waiting than hurrying up.

If your 1-2 punch fails, go ahead and use the BBB method (search BBB here). You'll be amazed and shocked at how your collections fall off. Throw in AGs and the link and you're good to go.

And remember, make sure the letters you send out are as close to your own words as possible. Don't send sample letters....they'll all hip to the game.

Yeah I usually hand write all my letters and it has worked pretty good for me so far to date. I thought I would start with regular disputes with all of the big 3, then see what happens, the ones that dont come off I was going to do the DV with the OC's and with sallie mae I don't know if I should call them or send them a letter, I have a pretty good amount of patience my reports were worst than this 2 years ago and I got a lot of crap off, but I had a lot of s$&t happen to me and had to focus on my family and pull back on the fight with the OCs and CB's.

I am thinking First primer, and continental, total, JCP is going to really break my ballz with trying to get their negs off since they were and are pretty recent, but I will try. I am going to dispute all the negs then work on all those hard pulls, it seems like a lot of the pulls are sol soon anyways.8-)

Also I don't want to apply for any more cards or loans untill I get my scores up and some of these negs. off. Thats why I was glad I got that rewards 660 so I can build up by making timely payments, and keeping the use down.

It sucks that I went bad with JCP, I had a great payment history with them and would pay them off every month at first, I went from the standard to the Plat. in 6 months cause of that and had a CLI to 800$ I wonder if it is to late to try and work with them?

You are always welcome to call an OC. CAs you never want to call.

JCP might work with you too....it never hurts to try. People understand that sometimes "life" happens.

Yeah maybe I should call them and see if they will work with me, I will give it a shot on monday after work in the morning and see what they say. If tey reinstated my account I could and would start paying again but it is trying to convince them of that. I liked the card you could use it at CVS pharmacy too.

Another thing I keep hearing about cap 1 and also went to whogavemecredit.com, and have seen several sites that they offer credit to bad credit people with low scores. I think I will give them a shot when and if I get some of these negs off.

I had tried about 3-4 times with scores higher than those allegedly approved. Crap 1 always denied me. (and I'm talking like around 630s-650s).

I am discouraged from trying them now, plus they pull all three so I am in INQ management right now.

You are most likely going to need to both get rid of negs and have positive paying showing for a few months before you bother trying with them.

Thats what I figured so I didn't bother applying at all, I am doing the inq. management to right now. I hope that JCP will work with me.

AA I think I'm gonna try the 1-2 Punch method. I feel like you tommy when I look at my reports. A lot of it I feel like I'll never get rid of!! Remember to post your progress since it would be very motivating to someone like me in a similar situation. I disputed a few inquires, and some small stuff, but I've been sort of on pause when it comes to tackling the big stuff. I wanna read a lot and make sure I know what I'm doing.

Tommy - I have been with CIC for almost 2 months and will share how I started.........others who have been in credit repair longer will be able to share what has worked for them.

I got organized.

http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showthread.php?t=277579

Although when I first read this, I rolled my eyes because it was so basic. I decided if I was searching for help, that I would follow the suggestions and I am so glad I did - I now know that this is a critical step and cannot stress the importance of it.

I altered it a little to fit my needs.

For example:

I added a credit repair time-line (originally so I could see my progress; however, I use it to refer to rather than going back through paper work to verify dates, etc.).

I also made a list of negative items that needed attention (with a notation on how I would pursue correcting them - and adjust it as I learn more on credit repair).

I also took a good look on how I got into my situation and what could I have done to have prevented it. Hopefully self examination and recognizing my mistakes will prevent me from falling into a similar situation.

I don't know if this will help you get started - but I think you have to "have a plan and then work the plan" in order to accomplish your goals.

Wishing you success in all your endeavors.

There are days you are going to want to give up and say f'it. That's normal...everything worthwhile will always give you days like that. The true difference between success and failure, really, is perseverance. Either one comes from something that you started out to do in the first place, but the outcome you want comes with how persistent you are in the attack.

Take a look at my FICO progress from March til a couple of days ago. I usually just show my current in my sig, but just to give you guys an idea of the fluctuations I went through (rehabbed student loan, tax lien showing up, a JDB trying to stay on my reports, but gets defeated NDAed, new credit showing up, etc.).

You will definitely see ups and downs, but consistency will eventually win.

AA, sweet princess and DD...I most definattly will keep everyone updated. Here is some info that I hope will help keep MORAL up in here especially if you are having CRA delete problems sorry if long post.....

9/06-(B4 I became a member, I was just a "lurker" and just read stuff.)

EQ=9/29/06....REdisputes that came off and have stayed off to date 0f (ironically this same exact date 2 years ago) 9/29/08...1 drivetime repo,1 ugly duckling repo, 1 first premier, 1 snet.

EQ=9/25/06 Original disputes that came off before above came off and still off to date....1 southern mgmt systems (apt) collection , 1 anderson financial collection, 1 bcci, 2 pca's collections, 2 united compucred collection, 1 cbna collection, 1 baddcock furniture collection.....All were supposed to come off now this year but got them off 2 years early by doing only two disputes with EQ....Eq gave me love in 06 lot's......:) I think what is killing me right now are PIF sallie maes 9 total that are reporting 180-days Past due or late.

OK heres Tu= They suck .....CR 11/14/06.....Disputed 2 times all negs only 5 got removed some at the time did not report to eq anyways ...first premer verified, southern new england tele deleted, drive time verified, midland verified, credit solutions verified, credit bureau north america deleted, southern mgmt verified, us treasury deleted, afni deleted, fingerhut deleted, sallie maess 9 total all new info 180 late pif.....I even sent them a cert copy of EQs deletions and they sent me a letter basically telling me to FOAD...LOL:twisted:

EX= basically the same as TU and EQ but they definattly removed more than TU....

I am in the process of getting my scores THIS time and basically starting from scratch and not jumping all around like I did before, but I did get a lot done though...at least I think I did...:!::-)

I have a lot of inq's that are due to come off soon from all 3 cra's. Right now I am doing this....(1) try and contact sallie mae, see if they will give me a break reporting already listed PIF loans that are consolidated, (2) Try and contact JCP see if they will reinstate card and if I can start paying them(I know the chances of this are slim to none but why not try?) Hopefully I make contact and then they work with me if not well I was going to do my disputes, see the results then from there depending on the situation/scenerio do DV, 623...and last PFD, Of course if anyone has anything better to suggest let me know...:)

Well i just read this thread and I didnt know this was going to be asked LOL so I guess Student loans don't really affect your score.

My original SL just have the lates on it and it is going to fall out in 2010. As long as I have documentation that the loan is paid, I can get a mortgage. My rehabbed loan because it was $521.95 is PIFed....I had to because they were going to try to keep my state refund check.

If you had a default on there, you must rehab. No DVing, 623ing or any of that....that debt has to be straight up paid the way they want you to pay it off....sufferred for a good 9-10 months.

All the reason I advocate spending the $38.26 monthly. My Fakos are 100 points lower than my sucker FICO scores. You get a better sense of what and how you're doing. The reason you might see 2 or 3 times monthly from me is because I checked when I saw a major change in TC. (I don't do that anymore...I still stick with the 25/26th of the month now... :) )

None of my student loans are defaulted, CAME close but they are not defaulted. I consolidated them and great lakes has them now. I am in hardship deferment till this time next year. Should I not worry about them right now and go after the collections instead?

Another question..I have been disputing everything negative should I tone that down to a few at a time? would I get a better response?
