LeslieR
Just an FYI. I've been away from the boards for about a week so not sure if anyone else has commented on this. When I started my process, my TU file was split due to the ridiculous number of accounts and duplicates. Now, I have no baddies and a relatively few number of TLs compared to where I started. My split file was corrected fairly early on in my repair process.I have been a daily puller now for about nine months, first w/ TC and then with CK and Chase ID Protection. The soft inquiries have for that time, obviously, been numerous. But now, the number of soft inqs through creditkarma and cid have split my file, and my most recent card is now on its own in a file created 9/08 (the third element of the Sterling Trifecta).B*** is no longer working for me and hasn't for a couple of months now, despite various strategies. Four inqs came back and remain. I'm not monkeying around with this anymore - I'm going to pull once a month to keep tabs on things and forget daily pulling. It's too much of a headache and I do NOT want a split file w/ TU.Just a little FYI. The only way to know this is to request a report by mail directly from TU (not by looking at a Trimerge or online report at TU).
AboveAverage
Did you pay for the report? Maybe I should do that too...to see if it is split. What are the indicators for a split file? That stuff is missing?Maybe *b should be left alone. I only have 5-6 INQs on TU anyway and the EX and EQ methods will no longer work for me (my EX method...*sniff sniff*) because every INQ I have (now) is tied into stuff I do have and I don't want an FA on my reports anymore. I opened up way too many accounts (according to myfico and TC) and I might have to consider doing a mere monthly monitoring instead of the daily. Monitoring for me is important only because I was hit with legitimate fraud. Something new opens up without my knowledge, I need to know about it. LeslieR
No, I didn't pay for it - I just disputed an old address. They removed it and sent my updated report. You can tell its split because you get normal, full report and it ends with inqs. Then you get a new cover sheet followed by a second report with additional stuff (that I guess didn't fit on the first report) on it. For me, the second report has only one TL (my most recently opened account). The first report says "you've been in our files since xx/xx/xxxx" (correct date that I first obtained credit years ago) and the second cover sheet says "you've been in our files since 09/07/08."There are pages and pages of soft inqs. on the first report in the envelope. Far more pages of inqs. than TLs or personal info. Which makes sense since I've been pulling CK and CID Protect nearly every day for a month, and TC for months before that.I'm done worrying about inqs! It's causing more of a headache than it's worth!OH AND FORGOT TO ADD: TU put a FA on all three of my reports (extended) and opted me out and put the reason as "excessive inquiries (20+) in past 30 days." They were all soft, however.
lovebug5
This exact thing happened to me very early on in my process...About six or so months of pulling through TC four or five times per week. I ended up getting into an argument with a woman in the fraud department of TransUnion and had to write a letter to their corporate offices to have the problem fixed. It's not fun. isislc
I have been pulling every day for a year and a half now, multiple times a day, and have never had any issues with a split file or inquiries coming back. The only thing I've had, which was nice, is negative accounts falling off my EQ report.
PrincessAmy
Leslie, that was my problem as well - the TC and CK pulls were not helping my already split file. It took a complaint to the Pennsylvania AG to get it corrected.

jimdiamond
well i was checking exp, and to my surprise there was no accounts, none, well theo nly ones were my parents cc's that they made me auth user of years ago, they stayed on, alllll my accounts were deleted, gone, nowhere to be found. i am maxed out to the tune of 20k on all my cards, some are late, there were random collections, judgments, etc on exp, now its gone. so being an idiot, i CALLED and she said its split my file, i was curious because my score was up in the mid 600's! when just a day befoe it was 530, well when it split it wen t up 100 points! i shouldnt have said anything right?! or is that meaningless and if someone pulls my credit from a bank or lender they will see all my acounts. meaning the late payments, the maxed out ones, the collections etc.curious? well ij ust checked efax and its def split, shows my score of 663, lol, and one collection on there, just reported yesterday. ill get that removed with a simple dispute, once it comes off my score should jump to 700, can i get credit with a spilt report or do they see all the reports even though my score says "700"?
