hello i have recently been banned from creditboards because i dont think people should buy expensive fico scores when they cant afford them .

as you all know my fico drains peoples money on obsolete scoring formulas

from 1998 or 99

lenders use thier own scoring models

also i am not against myfico . if people can afford them go for it

i just know to many people that pay because they think that myfico is

exactlly what lenders see . and they spend money they dont have

i dont want to be banned from here

please let me know whats off topic

and i wont bring it up anymore

Well...

One of the key differences between this board and that one is that this place is very civil. Even if there are disagreements, I haven't seen any of the ridiculousness that I see at that place going on here.

With that said, you will find that you are in good company here with your opinion of myfico scores. In fact, they are called sucker scores by some. I tend to want to know mine not because I'm a sucker, but because I want to track my progress and not to mention the fact that they are close to the scores I would see if I wanted a mortgage (+/- a few points). I just posted today in another thread a list of my scores from March til a couple of days ago to show others my progress with the hope of encouraging others.

I have bought scores more than once a month but I am stopping that practice. I only did it when TC showed something significant on one of my CRs. $38.76 (or whatever it is with a discount code) equals a tiny expense for me, and not terribly expensive.

So I hope things work out well over there and even if they don't...perhaps you can add your experiences here (good, bad or indifferent).

my credit scores are so bad right now...I'm afraid to even look just how far they've sunk.

On the plus side...I no longer get credit card "invites" in the mail. No longer hassled by "your pre-approved" for thousands (of which I cannot pay back).

On the down side...hmm, I'm sure I'll get bit in the butt down the road. Right now I don't need credit for I have no income and cannot work. :private:

I'm just happy my daughter (the reason i cannot work and have no money) has a new doctor who won't with hold an anti biotic for over a month when the poor kid has a sinus infection. (Her old doc was a moron)

I hope everything gets better, I know how it is when kids are sick.. one of my son's is and has been in a hospital since dec 13 last year (07)...It takes a toll on you and the whole family....hang in there!!!:):)

First of all I have seen some of the other sites and they seem real snoby, I went to Fico's forums, and they suck...In my opinion....All the people in there seem brainwashed....As a matter of fact I was in a thread reading and someone asked about other sites about credit repair, someone suggested this place and another person said that people here are rude..I haven't been back there since...The people here are overall nice, genuine, and will give you their opinion, and tell you what worked best for them...This forum is tha shizzit....:)

I can't afford to but those stupid scores all the time either, I bought one, and I plan on getting the 3 from TC soon so like AA and a lot of the others do so you can see your progress, so you don't feel like you are going no where...I am a member of credit Karma too, I just joined a few days ago, I never knew of that place till a person here posted about it....:-)Welcome...:)

Let me ask you something? Do you go out drinking with your buddies? That's gotta be at least 20-40 bucks, right? How about movies with your woman? You probably spend maybe $40 a month on something trivial. If it were just a bar night with your buddies, that's easy.....you can forgo it ONE night for a month....

$38.26 just isn't terribly expensive. Not trying to sound like a snob, or anything....trust me. I know you got some issues with your CRs though....I trust they'll have an answer for you in a couple of weeks (hopefully).

AA No offense taken...but to answer your question..no I don't go out with my buddies and me and my fiancee hardly ever go out. I plan on ordering the scores this payday (thurs morning). But yes, I see your point. I was just trying to tell the OP that I understand his point of view on the ficos, because I can't afford to buy them all the time either...I am just being honest..and you seem far from a snob... I am not complaining though I chose my career/and path in life I blame no one for my misfortunes and immature handling of my credit....

LOL...I understand your point but I have to reply with just how bad things are right now.

In my county the unemployment rate is over the national average. The average household mean income is 20 thousand below the national average.

Extra money for going out, entertainment is hard to come by. Can't afford the movies right now, plus the gas to get to the theater. We watch TV and rent one movie for 99 cents.

We're canceling subscriptions to thing we don't need. Cutting coupons for groceries. Buying generics foods.

Gas is 3.77 a gallon for 87 octane the last I looked. Probably gone back up by now. I will have to come up with that same 40 dollars to put gas in my car to get my daughter to a hospital over 30 miles away for a appointment tomorrow.

I will also have to come up with 5 dollars for parking in the hospital garage and I won't be able to get a "get out of jail free" pass for a dr. visit.

That's 45 dollars I need to come up with to take my daughter to her stomach dr alone.

I also need to buy dinner meat bread, milk, eggs and butter. About 20 dollars right there.

A total of 65 dollars for one living day of gas, parking, basic staples for the house.

What it boils down to is: I would have lots of money if I didn't need to live.

buying credit scores is not a necessity right now. One would think the internet isn't needed too. But I have not canceled it because I find more research info here for my book than at the library. The information I get from sites like this one, I couldn't find without the internet. So, to me the internet is a needed expense (though hubby disagrees).

38 dollars may not sound like much till ya realize that it takes more than 38 dollars just to get through one single day.

I haven't been over on creditboards for awhile. For the longest time GEORGE was one of their mainstays and he was totally anti-pay-for-FICO from the get go. (And he was the only one allowed to post in all caps! LOL)

I don't go there much because they stopped being a site of 'fix your credit' advice....and became too much of a brag-about-how-high-my-credit-limits-are site! Folks started attacking GEORGE and I think he even quit the site.

We welcome you here! :)++ I won't waste money on FICO scores unless I am about to make a big purchase. If I am not seeking credit, then my FICO scores are irrelevant and the money better spent elsewhere (even if it *IS* to see a movie with my honey! )

I understand, and I did not mean to sound insensitive. I am the sole provider of my household. SOLE! I provide for my DF and Japanese Chin and there are times I would want to put both of them to work. However the DF does maintain my home and there is always cooked food when my butt gets home.

And unlike my father, I not only bring money into the house, I have to do what my mom used to do and pay the bills. It's something I insist on doing anyway because it's all online now and I have to figure out where what is going. Stuff is ontime, but I still have to juggle. I don't mail nothing out that involves a bill. But I have to figure out what to buy, what not to buy. I know it's rough. You're in upstate NY, try being around Manhattan.....where EVERYTHING is expensive (especially the counties in NJ closest to Manhattan...Essex, Hudson, Bergen [where all the millionaires live], and North Jersey in general).

In any event, if you're not looking forward to a major purchase (like me), then yes, you would not need to get your FICOs and hence spend the money. I am definitely understanding at how rough stuff is.

stop apologizing...geez! 8-)

You live down THERE!!!!!

Manhattan doesn't count. That place constitutes another realm of reality. LOL. :mrgreen:88-)

I live near Rochester NY. Our problem is that Rochester USED to be a major manufacturing giant. We have kodak, Xerox, Bosh and Lomb, Harris Communications. We still have those companies but they don't employ nearly as many people as they used too. We also had a giant tool and die industry that has also been failing.

All our jobs has gone overseas. Xerox is downsizing still as well as Kodak. pretty soon there will be NO manufacturing left. We don't have any tourist industry to speak off. We do have some hospitals, if ya into nursing.

What just kills me right now is the fact that upstate NY has a huge apple industry. But instead of hiring local people to do that job at a living wage, the farmers employ migrants and illegal aliens to work the apple orchards.

For Pete's sake! Not only have we lost our good paying manufacturing jobs to what is essentially slave labor in china but we can't even get a job picking apples becuase the illegals and migrants take those jobs from us.

Then we have what has been dubbed...the "brain drain."

Another worlds all our top graduates from colleges are leaving to find jobs elsewhere. Oy, no wonder NYS sucks in employment.

Right now I hope Xerox doesn't close down the manufacturing for 8 more years. Then hubby can retire. And I'm praying for 8 years but there is a thousand manufacturing employees left in the complex which once employed 8 thousand. Not sure if we will make that. :-(

LOL...people are so sensitive on the In'net....sometimes things translate wrong, even though one is writing in plain English. Just don't want to piss anyone off inadvertently.

Another reality...that's how I felt about all of Upstate NY.... My first upstate town was Binghamton, where the prices of a gallon of milk and eggs were about a third of what I am used to paying....that's how I knew I wasn't in Kansas anymore. Then the theme song for Green Acres started playing in my head.....ROTFLMAO...but how I feel about that place, I feel that way about South Jersey. South Jersey is pretty rural, and quite hickish.

I've also been to Syracuse and Rochester (much of this was in my college days). Both of them seemed like manufacturer towns but they're also big college towns too (RPI, Syracuse, etc). So those places are going to bring the towns money, I'd imagine. The economy is rough right now, and I know daytraders are contemplating suicide today after the wallop Wall St. got today. That will definitely trickle down to you and I in some form or another. Just gotta keep trucking, I suppose.

Don't get me started on farms though...I like how my taxpayer dollars goes into farm subsidies, yet my produce seems to come from such places as Mexico, Canada, New Zealand, pretty much anywhere BUT the US. And those Apples that Pablo and Pepe are picking probably aren't even being sold to you...or me...but to places like China. Ehhh...I digress though.

I pay 4.69 a gallon for gas here. You are lucky at 3.77., and unlike AA I have to pump my GAS LOL!!!! Oh Jackie I am going through the same scenario...you are not alone. We will all make it through...Things can only get better!!!!:)

I am the only income in my household too, I get my reg weelky pay plus my VA disability check and thats it. My fiancee wants to work but if she did her whole pay check and some of mine would have to pay for daycare!!! And frankly, I really don't want my kids raised by a stranger either. But I think what she does is even better than a full time job because she takes good care of me and the kids, cooks cleans and she CANT clock out either...I have a lot of respect for stay at home moms...Things are freaking outragous here too as far as grocerys and goods go. ESP GAS!!!!!! I didn't take what you said as insensitive...You can't hear a tone of voice on here nor can you see body language in a forum either...I try not to read into stuff to much...Thanks for your advise AA.....I will be on again in the morning I work 3rd shift so this is midnight for me right now...LOL....Take er easy...Tommy...:)8-)
