closed captioning careers

Recommended Posts

Anyone know anything about closed captioning? I am wanting to train at home for it, but am in the middle of a ch13 and can't get new credit and don't know how I'm going to afford this? any help please!

Hi there,

Two things:

Do you have a disability? If yes then see your vocational rehabilitation counselor in your state for free training.

If no, look for captioning devices that are on loan. For example, in my state we have free devices on loan. Google "Boston WBGH-TV closed captioning", then contact them, they can guide you to how to get these devices in your state. You may be able to teach yourself how to do it. There a big need for captioning as captioning telephones for the hearing impaired is a huge demand. There may be a call center and home based work. Check it out, it can't hurt.

Hope that helps a bit and good Luck!!!.

Suki
