cah5790
I was thinking of applying for CareCredit to pay for some dental work. Has anyone used them? What kind of credit do you need for approval? Thanks!
Krash
I was thinking of applying for CareCredit to pay for some dental work. Has anyone used them? What kind of credit do you need for approval? Thanks!care credit is GE MONEY BANK, their INT is high usually! But they offer 6 mos 0 int sometimes! Good luck, i have seen some people get a card with a 620 and up, and some 520 and up!
cap1kid
check your employer if they have HSA card- you pay weekly into it with pre-tax dollars- (reduces your taxable income) and you get a debit card for the whole amount at the employer - no interest because you because your emploer fronts the money- example: yo siggn up to have $10 deducted weekly- begining og JAn you get a debit card for 520 to be used only for medical expensesexcuse my typo i had 5 teeth extracted yesterday- just a thought= wisdom extractions may be covered under 'surgery' which is health insurance- not dental insurance- and you can save a ton of moneyhttp://usa.visa.com/personal/cards/prepaid/healthcare-card.html
cah5790
I have a HSA but nothing in it yet; my employer doesn't "front the money", all we can use is what we have contributed to date. It's a very good suggestion, though.I'm going to apply for CareCredit and see what happens, I can't let this go too much longer. My health and dental insurance both suck. All the dental will pay for a year is $1500, and I have a $3000 deductible for the medical; they won't pay for anything that's not preventative until the deductible is met.We have some GEMB accts so hopefully I can get this one! Krash
well, problem usually with GEMB is that u can't get too many cards with them either, I am assuming! Why dont' u just use a credit card you already have?
CleverCynic
GEMB has flooded me with pre-approvals lately... about 5 to be exact and I took 2 more of them. I've had JCPenney for almost 3 years, they were stingey with the CLI's until a few months ago, then wham gave me $1800. I had ExxonMobil with them but Citi bought it, and recently I took Lowe's and Badcock, and ignored Walmart and Belk. So, yeah, anyway you can have a bunch with them. cah5790
Shot down!!! Oh well. I was trying to avoid using one of the cards I already have. I'm trying to get the balances down, my utilizations are WAY too high.
Dre
I have one of these cards, b/c I too had to use it for dental work. I couldn't afford the work getting done, so I applied for the card right there in the dental chair! LOL! I got a $900 CL (tooth = $800), and I had a 0% interest for 6 months. Paid off the card and I haven't used it since b/c to be able to charge anything on it for the dentist, it has to be $50 or more.I believe you can use it at different vets, as well. Hope this helps out and good luck w/ the teeth!
thegame26
well, problem usually with GEMB is that u can't get too many cards with them either, I am assumingi don't know if that's necessarly true. I have the following GEMB cards:SAMS Club ($1000)SAMS Club Discover ($700)Old Navy ($500)GAP ($500)Banana Republic ($500)JC Penney ($1500)Cheveron/Texaco Card ($500)All spaced out over the last 9 months. So they keep approving me.
justagirl003
I had to have some dental work done at about the same time I had begun repairing my credit. I have no idea what my scores were at the time...maybe mid to high 500s and they gave me a CL of $1800 and the dental work only cost about $200. What's nice about Care Credit is that you can also use it for eye exams & glasses/contacts, which came in handy because my health plan doesn't cover that. CreditKitty
My score was barely 618 when I applied for Care Credit... I think about a year and a half ago? They approved me with no problems, and I got 12 months deferred 0% interest along with it.
